SACRAMENTO, CA - An 8-year-old boy barricaded himself inside a classroom at Maple Elementary School in Sacramento around 10:14 a.m. Friday, according to Sacramento police.
Sgt. Andrew Pettit said the boy blocked the door with a bookcase and was seen throwing chairs and breaking out...more windows. He was later removed from the classroom and taken into police custody.
Pettit said police would determine whether or not to take the boy to juvenile hall or let the school determine his punishment. According to Pettit, the decision would depend on whether it could determined the boy knew he was doing wrong.
Police did not know why the boy was so upset, said Pettit.
WOODLAND, CA - A man portraying to be a buyer on Craigslist has been found guilty of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an iPhone transaction in Davis.
Yolo County Chief Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Raven said Calvin Tommy Johnson, 27, of Vallejo,...more arranged a meeting with the seller of the phone for Sept. 26, 2010 in Davis. When the two met in a shopping center and the seller handed the phone to Johnson, Johnson went to his car on the pretense of getting money to pay the buyer, Instead he told the driver to leave.
According to court testimony, the seller tried to grab the iPhone from Johnson and was dragged alongside the car a short distance before the car sped off. The iPhone owner suffered significant injuries.
Johnson tossed the iPhone out the car window, destroying it, Raven said.
Law enforcement caught up with Johnson six months later by monitoring emails between the victim and him.
