RIO VISTA - A helicopter crash-landed near Highway 160 after it was clipped by a small plane Sunday evening. The pilot suffered minor injuries as did the Beechcraft pilot who landed short of the Byron Airport about 20 miles away.

A damaged levee along the San Joaquin River in Contra Costa County near Rio Vista has resulted in the establishment of a wide safety zone for boaters through  the area, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The U.S. Coast Guard was bringing in supplies late Friday to help repair a 150-foot section of eroded levee in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, according to authorities.
