SACRAMENTO, CA - The federal government has filed a lawsuit to force anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan to provide her financial records to the Internal Revenue Service.

An IRS revenue officer said Sheehan refused to answer any questions about her finances after receiving a summons at

The U.S. Attorney's office on Tuesday filed a petition to enforce the IRS summons.

The summons ordered Sheehan to produce bank account statements for the period from August through early November 2011.

According to IRS revenue officer Jose Arteaga, the financial information may be relevant to the collection of Sheehan's federal income tax liabilities for tax years 2005 and 2006.

Arteaga said Sheehan first met with him on Nov. 22 and sought an extension to Jan. 17.  It was during the January meeting that she refused to answer any questions or produce the requested documents.

ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) -- The owner of a helicopter flight school with a student who was involved in a midair collision over Rio Vista says the aircraft narrowly escaped what could have been a deadly crash.

Wayne Prodger, the owner of Vertical CFI Helicopters in Hayward, told The Associated Press the 'copter pilot, a 29-year-old woman, is an experienced commercial airplane pilot who was logging night-flying hours toward a helicopter license.

Prodger said the woman told him she briefly saw the Beechcraft Bonanza behind her around 7 p.m. Sunday. The next thing she knew, the plane struck the chopper's skids and she was falling to the ground.

He declined to give his student's name, saying she's still shaken up. Both pilots suffered only minor injuries.

Prodger said it would have been a full-on collision if the Beechcraft was just a few feet higher.

RIO VISTA - A helicopter crash-landed near Highway 160 after it was clipped by a small plane Sunday evening. The pilot suffered minor injuries as did the Beechcraft pilot who landed short of the Byron Airport about 20 miles away.
