Help Knock Cancer out of the Park with Memorial Medical Center and The Modesto Nuts!

The public is invited to “Knock Cancer Out of the Park” with Memorial Medical Center and the Modesto Nuts on Saturday, June 9, when the Nuts challenge the Bakersfield Blaze at John Thurman Field in Modesto. The event will highlight breast cancer awareness and feature valuable health...more information, fireworks and a great night of baseball!

Commemorative “Knock Cancer Out of the Park” t-shirts, game tickets and special seating will be available for breast cancer survivors on a first-come, first-served basis. Breast cancer survivors may call 209-569-7789 for more information.

Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. and game time is 7:05 p.m. Staff from Memorial will provide cancer awareness information and sell special pink t-shirts in honor of the occasion. Your favorite Modesto Nuts players will wear pink jerseys that will be auctioned following the game, with proceeds to benefit Memorial’s not-for-profit cancer services.To purchase game tickets, contact the Modesto Nuts box

The Sac-Joaquin Section Division One  baseball playoffs move into full swing this week and Elk Grove high schools are among the favorites to win it all----Pleasant Grove, Elk Grove, and Franklin High School all have a decent chance to come away as section champ…….The Franklin Wildcats already...more have one playoff game under their belt----a 6-2 win over Vintage High School of Napa Monday afternoon in a play-in game……..up next for Franklin is top seeded Pleasant Grove-----The Eagles come in with a record of 22-5 with two wins already over three other D-1 hopefuls, Franklin, Jesuit, and Oak Ridge-----Pleasant Grove and Franklin will play tomorrow…..for the first time in a couple of years Elk Grove is flying somewhat under the radar----the Herd with a record of 19-7 feature perhaps the most feared hitter in the section, Rowdy Tellez, as well as several other stars…..the North section is brutal---Pleasant Grove, Elk Grove, Franklin, Davis, Oak Ridge, Jesuit all with a strong chance to win
